Our final full day in Cambodia: the last opportunity to liase directly with our contacts on the ground (so much trickier when you’re 7,000 miles away!), more shopping, and a few ‘treats’ we haven’t had time for up to now.
A walk down the famous Pub Street is perhaps not everyone’s idea of a ‘treat’ but it’s very much part of Cambodia’s premier tourist hot spot and provides work for many young Cambodians.
Unfortunately, for many tourists (and there’s a lot of them!) this is all they will ever see of this beautiful, gentle and friendly country.
But if you’ve been following our journey, you will know the ‘real’ Cambodia is rather different. And what a privilege it has been to be able to experience and share it with so many of you. Thank you all for travelling with us and sharing your reactions.
And thank you Cambodia, for your welcome, your friendship and your ever-present smiles.
“You always come back”…someone said to me the other day. Yes, we do….and, God willing🙏, we will again.
Choom reap leea Kampuchea’- ‘okoon nas’. 🙏😥❤️🤗🇰🇭🇬🇧
