Just a few days to go now until the charity’s Trustees fly to Cambodia [at their own expense] to inspect recently completed and previous projects to ensure donated money is spent accountably.
Trustees Katie Maidment and David Pattrick [but not Bob Maidment who has unfortunately had to withdraw from the trip for medical reasons] with ‘Metta Karuna’ the Support Cambodia Bear, will visit over 20 centres in 18 days including the Support Cambodia borewell at Reedonkao near Battambang and the new Day Care Room at Kon Damrai Primary School in Pailin Province.
One of the highlights will be a visit to St. Sebastian’s Day Care Centre at Pongro Village [Banteay Meanchey] where we will present a Community Water Filter donated by a Norwich lady in memory of her late mother and play equipment and 50 T-shirts funded by St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary [Norwich].
16 Family Water Filters, provided by two private donors and the St Francis children, will be distributed to local families who presently have no clean water, along with 23,000 vitamin tablets generously donated by Just Vitamins [justvitamins.co.uk] of Coventry.
Added to this in Phnom Penh’s Orusey Market will be soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels, shampoo, toilet cleaner etc [look out for the ‘loading the van’ pictures on our Facebook Page!]. If you contributed during the year to our Hygiene Fund, this is how your donations are used.
From all who will receive these basic necessities over the next few weeks:
thank you very much for helping Support Cambodia help them.
