OUR Trustees

All are familiar with Cambodia having visited regularly since 2007.

The Trustees meet every two months and the AGM, held in April/May, is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Visits by the Trustees [not funded by the charity] are made when possible and regular communication ensures that money is spent accountably.

Katie Maidment
(Chair)

After 30 years teaching music to primary age children, Katie became involved in the charity business through visits to Egypt, South Africa and since 2007, Cambodia. Together with her late husband Bob and three others, Katie established Support Cambodia in 2015 and has to date visited the country 14 times. She is now Chair of Trustees and when not glued to a computer screen, enjoys cooking, gardening and running her local church choir.

David Pattrick

(Treasurer)

David is a retired Petroleum Geologist, whose career included six years working in SE Asia. He first visited Cambodia, as a tourist, in 2004 and  became a Trustee of the Support Cambodia charity in 2019. David took on the role of Treasurer in 2020, following the death of the previous Treasurer, Bob Maidment. Since that time he has made two further visits to Cambodia.

Maria Brown
(Trustee)

Maria has been involved with Cambodia for a number of years, visiting the country five times with pastoral groups.  In the short time she has been a Support Cambodia Trustee, she has taken her responsibilities very seriously, recruiting new Sponsors and promoting the charity in the Acle area.  After a long career in nursing, Maria now enjoys gardening and textile crafting.

Carol Shippey
(Trustee)

Carol is a founder Trustee of the charity and has visited Cambodia a number of times, both solo and with her husband David and daughter Sarah. A retired nurse, Carol now runs her own very successful Preserves business.

Personal connections are at the heart of this charity and the fact we have been able to deliver our projects so successfully has depended largely on the immense contribution of our Cambodian contacts, most of whom we have known for many years.  They are all very much part of “Team Cambodia” and we couldn’t do this work without them.
