As of Tuesday morning 5th August, the Food for Families Appeal stands at nearly £2000 – that’s 50 food packs – a truly amazing response from so many generous people. On behalf of Support Cambodia and especially those families in Tampoung and Knach Romeas who will receive parcels…OKOON, OKOON [thank you, thank you]!! $2000 has already arrived in Cambodia and will be put to use at the appropriate time.
A message from Father Glenn Diaz, Parish Priest of the two villages,
“ I would like to acknowledge the receipt of $2,000 to our account today. Thank you very much. I will update you as to how the fund is spent as soon as possible. Thanks a lot for your generosity.”
The Appeal is still running and we anticipate further contributions, including the proceeds of the Table Top Sale in Aylsham Market Place on Saturday 9th 9am – 12 noon [see the Diary page for details]
Any remaining monies raised will now be held until the Appeal closes on Sunday and then sent out separately. We’ll let you know how much that is and the final total.
In the meantime, here are some pictures from Cambodia showing the relief effort being run by Karuna Battambang Organisation [KBO] , a Cambodia-registered NGO and the social outreach arm of the Catholic Prefecture of Battambang with whom Support Cambodia has close links. You may be able to spot Father Glenn [turquoise shirt] and Dr Chamrom [dark glasses and a Support Cambodia tote bag!]. They are pictured delivering food packs to families in Oddar Meanchey Province on Sunday 3rd August. [Thanks to the Prefecture for use of the pictures]
