FLOOD APPEAL – LATEST NEWS & PICTURES

The final total for our Emergency Flood Appeal was a phenomenal £7867. 88. Thanks to the wonderfully generous response from so many people, we have been able to send food packs, formula milk, toiletries and replacement chickens to well over 100 families plus funding to replant crops such as cassava, rice and vegetables in a number of locations.

All the Appeal money has now been distributed, with priority given to the very poorest communities and those areas where little or no other NGO help is available. Villages that have received support include: Nikum, Chomnaom, Tampung and Sneung [all in Battambang Province] and Phnom Priel, Otovao, Otopok, Prom and a number of other remote places in Pailin Province near to the Thai border.
ON BEHALF OF ALL THOSE IN CAMBODIA WHO HAVE BEEN HELPED BY YOUR GENEROSITY:
 THANK YOU.

The replanting of rice is especially important as the main harvest, normally around December/January, will have been lost in the worst-affected areas, mostly in the west of thecountry. The annual rains are over so the new planting may not now have sufficient water to grow properly, resulting in a shortage of rice and higher prices.
