ANNUAL APPEAL 2017

Support Cambodia Annual Appeal for 2017 launches this weekend [9th September] and runs until 1st October. This year we are raising funds for the  Rice Soup & Baby Milk Programme in Svay Sisophon, Banteay Meanchey Province. This provides a regular rice meal for some of the poorest children in the Svay area and formula milk for the mothers of new-born twins.
Svay Sisophon is an unremarkable town of 100, 000 people, set a vast hinterland of rice fields about 25 miles from the Thai border. There’s little industry and the main occupations are rice farming and fishing.Lack of opportunity means that many are forced to cross the border to find work in Thailand.
Banteay Meanchey is the poorest province in Cambodia and the daily wage for many is less than $1 a day. so these programmes are a lifeline, especially for the very youngest.
Unlike most of our projects which are ‘one-offs-, Support Cambodia are committed to funding this programme every year. This year the Appeal target is £1200 which will provide Rice Soup and formula milk for a year.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 1st : We are very please to say that the Appeal has reached it’s target and is now CLOSED.
A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has contributed to such a great total. Above are a few pictures of some of the Appeal events.
